Acne can hit at any stage but most commonly occurs during the teenage years. It is a condition in which the small hair follicles of the skin become clogged with sebum, an oily substance naturally produced by the body. Once the follicles, also called pores, become clogged, bacteria begins to grow in these glands, causing inflammation and subsequent pimples.
Acne can occur wherever hair follicles are present, although the most common areas of the body affected by acne are the face, back, neck, and chest.
We offer treatment to individuals suffering from mild and moderate to severe acne.
Treatment may include antibiotics or other prescription medications. Treatment of acne is important, because without it dark spots and permanent acne scars may appear.
